Description Enjoy an adventure day from Zurich, beginning with a picturesque coach ride over the scenic Albis Pass and along the shimmering shores of Lake Lucerne to the charming resort town of Weggis on the Lucerne Riviera. Here, you’ll board an aerial cableway that lifts you to Rigi Kaltbad, continue your ascent via Europe’s first-ever mountain railway to the summit of Rigi-Kulm, at 1,797 meters above sea level. The panoramic views from the top stretch across the Swiss Midlands, showcasing deep blue lakes and a stunning Alpine backdrop.

After savoring the views, explore the summit’s well-marked hiking trails or relax at a cozy mountain restaurant, where you can enjoy a selection of classic Swiss dishes against an unforgettable alpine panorama. Take a moment of reflection at the Rigi Kulm mountain chapel before descending by cogwheel train to Vitznau. There, embark on a serene one-hour boat cruise across Lake Lucerne, surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery.

Arriving at the Lucerne pier, wander through the medieval streets of the historic Old Town, where you’ll see iconic landmarks such as the Chapel Bridge, the baroque Jesuit Church, and the impressive Culture and Convention Centre (KKL) designed by architect Jean Nouvel. Stroll the lakeside promenade lined with grand Belle Époque hotels, visit the famous Lion Monument, and perhaps enjoy a snack, drink, or souvenir shopping.

Information point Departure is from Zurich Bus Station near the main train station, Zurich HB. We do not have an office at the bus station, so please arrive 15 minutes early to check in directly with the Swisstours bus driver wearing a red jacket.

If you are coming from the train station, exit towards Platform 18, which is just in front of Il Baretto. Walk along the platform until you reach the restaurant “Wirtschaft zum Vorbahnhof.” Follow the excursion sign and turn right. Continue a short distance and you will see the bus station directly opposite Starbucks.
